-Insights Lab provides reports that help visualize campaign performance and effectiveness. These reports can be accessed at both the Ad Set and Campaign level of Quantcast Platform by hovering over the ad set or campaign and clicking Insights.
In this article, we will walk through how to interpret the Audience Overlap report which can be accessed by clicking Insights Lab, and choosing Audience Overlap from the drop down menu.
Description
The Audience Overlap insight uses a compound Venn diagram to highlight ad sets with significant overlap in reached uniques. This allows users to quickly get a sense of the degree of overlapping delivery within each ad set on the campaign.
You can hover over each portion of the circle to see the size of each audience. Where the circles intersect within the Venn diagram, the audience overlap between the two groups is shown.
Definitions:
Audience: Unique users that have reached your conversion event.
Overlap: Unique users that have been reached by more than one ad set.
Recommend Actions
The Audience Overlap insight visualizes users who have been served an impression across multiple ad sets. With this information, you can optimize your campaign to focus on specific audiences by changing the targeting configuration of your ad set.
Ad sets will naturally optimize delivery based on the targeting parameters that are configured. If you have ad sets that share a similar configuration, the chance for overlap will be higher. Overlap is not necessarily bad when it comes to performance, but it is up to you as a marketer to determine what is appropriate for your business.
