Deal Checklist
Below is a checklist to reference when troubleshooting deals
Set up
Is the deal set up correctly?
Are the Deal IDs and Seat IDs correct?
Google AdX
Has the deal been approved in Google AdX?
Deal Launch
It is recommended that the deal be live for more than one day before being used to ensure that bid opportunities flow through.
Ad Set Configuration
Gain insights into how your deal criteria might limit your inventory with the Delivery Forecast tool.
The tool provides a feasibility gauge. It shows:
Green - Very likely to deliver in full
Orange - Unlikely to deliver in full
Red - Very unlikely to deliver in full
Bid Request
Is the deal receiving bid requests? You can check through the platform's Deal Insights tool to see if the deal is receiving any bid requests.
To access Deal Insights, navigate to:
Organization Manager > Accounts > Inventory > Deals > Search for the deal in the Search Bar > Click on “Insights” under the deal name.
The Deal Insights tool is useful to verify if a deal is sending bid requests and how many bid requests are being filtered out.
You can also view why the bids are being filtered out.
eCPM cap
eCPM caps can limit delivery even if the eCPM cap is above the floor price because the cpm cap in the platform includes other add-ons (prebid segments, DMP segments, etc.)
eCPM caps should be greater than the floor price, but note that even though eCPM caps may be above the floor price, we may still be losing in the auction if the bids are not high enough.
If you noticed in the supply that a low win rate contributes to under-delivery, you might need to increase or remove the eCPM cap.
Platform Targeting Settings
If bid requests are being filtered, check the targeting settings to see if there is anything that is limiting delivery
Useful Tool: Supply Funnel Breakdown
Use this tool to see where bid opportunities are being dropped off
Common Issue: Common Drop Off: Creative Supply
Even if there are no inherent issues with a deal, the creative of a set must be compatible with the supply.
There are many reasons a creative might not be able to serve on a selected deal:
Creative size
Blocked IAB category
Blocked landing page
Missing consent for creative vendor (GDPR)
The deal has insufficient volume
If the deal does not have high enough bid requests/opportunities, this may potentially be due to the selected inventory from the publisher
The next steps here would be to contact the publisher regarding increasing bid opportunities to the deal
