Google ended its TCF grace period in mid-January and has begun enforcing their additional rules on TCF. As a result, your ads requests may not be filled by Google if you don’t meet these additional TCF requirements.
Google has a specific rule about “global scope” - Global scope is not allowed when working with Google (see 5.1 error in Google’s Troubleshooting TCF v2.0 implementation).
This article can help you make sure your consent scope is not set to “global scope” so you can protect your ad revenue!
Key steps:
1. Go to Choice Portal > Edit a Site > Consent Scope > Choose “Your site only” or “A group of your sites only”
2. Go to Vendors > IAB Vendors > search “Google” to validate if Google is currently on your vendor list and not blocked.
-
If Google is on your vendor list already, no additional step is needed.
-
If Google is blocked, unblock Google on your vendor list and go to Themes to make sure your purpose configuration meets Google’s requirements (Google help center article).
