Sensitive IAB Category Account and Campaign Reviews

IAB Categories

All campaigns, audiences, and everything else necessary to drive traffic to an advertiser's website are managed in accounts set up by the Organization Owner. During account creation, Organization Owners must select an Interactive Advertising Bureau (IAB) category.

The IAB categories tell our platform how to categorize the account, enabling optimal ad delivery through ad exchanges. Accounts with IAB categories that can be considered sensitive (restricted or prohibited) may need to be reviewed by a Quantcast team member before you can begin publishing campaigns. All campaigns must comply with our Campaign and Data Policy.

Review Process

Prohibited Categories

Prohibited IAB categories are not supported on the Quantcast Platform and cannot be selected during account creation. These categories may include alcohol, violence, sensitive health conditions, etc. If a prohibited category is selected, a notification will appear advising that the category is prohibited and not supported in the Quantcast Platform

Contact platform.support@quantcast.com if you have any questions.

Restricted Categories

Accounts with restricted IAB categories can be created, and account and campaign setup is accessible, but you may not publish your campaigns (depending on the category) until they are approved. These categories may include sexual orientation, health-related charitable organizations, religiously affiliated charitable organizations, casinos and gambling, employment and recruiting, financial products, and services.

Restricted Category w/Account Hold

  1. When a restricted category is selected during account creation, you will see a notification that explains our Campaign and Data Policy, the account hold, and the account review and campaign approval process.

  2. A Quantcast team member will review that your account has the correct category selected. If an incorrect category is selected, you will be notified to update your IAB category.

  3. For new or updated campaigns, a Quantcast team member will review them for compliance with our Campaign and Data Policy.

Note: You will not be able to publish any campaigns until they have been approved and released from the hold.

  1. Once the review is complete, a Quantcast team member will notify you of the decision.

    1. The campaign has been approved, and you can continue to publish your campaign.

    or

    2. The non-compliance that was found, the reason for the non-compliance, the campaign is not approved and must remain inactive, and to contact us after you have corrected the non-compliance. A Quantcast team member will review your corrections and notify you if your campaign has been approved or if additional corrections are needed.

For restricted categories with a hold, Quantcast performs audits and approvals for all campaigns before publishing.

Restricted Category (No Hold)

  1. When a restricted category is selected during account creation, you will see a notification that explains our Campaign and Data Policy and the review process.

  2. A Quantcast team member will confirm whether your account has the correct category selected. If an incorrect category is selected, you will be notified to update your IAB category.

  3. New and updated campaigns will be reviewed by a Quantcast team member for compliance with our Campaign and Data Policy.

  4. Once the review is complete, a Quantcast team member will notify you only if any non-compliance is found. Quantcast may pause the campaign and notify you of the non-compliance, the reason for the non-compliance, the deadline for correction, and ask you to contact us after you have corrected the non-compliance. A Quantcast team member will review your corrections and notify you if your campaign has been approved or if additional corrections are needed.

For restricted categories with no hold, Quantcast performs audits and approvals for all campaigns after they are created.

Unrestricted Categories

Accounts with unrestricted IAB categories are not restricted. If an unrestricted category is selected:

  • No notification will appear, and the account can be created

  • No hold is placed on the account

  • No review is required before publishing campaigns

For unrestricted categories, Quantcast performs a randomized audit on all accounts and their campaigns retroactively. If any non-compliance is found, Quantcast may pause the campaign and notify you of the non-compliance, the reasons for it, and the deadline for corrective actions.
