Online Brand Safety
How does the platform ensure brand safety?
Brand safety is managed through a default global blocklist that filters out fraudulent and inappropriate sites. Clients can also upload their own custom allowlists and blocklists for more granular control.
Does Quantcast work with any third parties for Brand Safety?
All our campaigns use Quantcast's proprietary technology for brand safety and pre-bid fraud. In addition, we have IAS and DV pre-bid segments available, and we do accept third-party post-bid verification tags for monitoring and blocking from IAS and DV.
Do you enable appropriate/inappropriate schedules (AKA white lists/black lists) to minimize the risk of ad misplacement?
Yes, we enable an inappropriate schedule on all campaigns, and on request, an appropriate schedule may also be used on a campaign-specific basis.
What is the policy for appropriate and/or inappropriate schedules, and explain how the buyer agrees to this before the delivery of ads?
An inappropriate schedule is used across all campaigns, preventing a bid from being made to serve an ad impression on any of the listed sites. It is regularly updated with reports from CV Tools when used on campaigns, with reviews of domains served during campaigns, and with ad-hoc requests from clients. Clients may add additional sites to the schedule on a campaign-specific basis.
When it is agreed during the Insertion Order process that a client’s own appropriate schedule should be used, then ad buying for that campaign is restricted to sites on this list.
Please state or reference documentation that explains how you monitor ad delivery, your ad takedown policy, and any contractual consequences of not implementing this policy.
We regularly review the domains on which ads are served and also receive reports from Content Verification Tools for campaigns that use them. Upon discovery or notification of inappropriate sites or content, our inappropriate schedule is updated, and the block is applied in real time to all campaigns from that time on. The contractual elements of this policy are IO-specific.
Reported ads are removed within two working days.
What is your Global Blocklist?
The Quantcast Platform has a global blocklist that prevents delivery on all identified high-risk sites.
What is IP suppression?
IP suppression is the ability to block specific Internet Protocol (IP) addresses so that ads are not shown to computers or networks associated with those addresses.
Can users add block lists/allow lists at the Organization level instead of the campaign level?
Yes, users can create blocklists and allowlists at the organization level by navigating to Organization > Inventory > Fraud & Brand Safety.
My allow list and block list are getting rejected. There is a domain list error. Why am I seeing this?
The technical maximum file size limit is approximately 4 MB. Users may split the file and upload each part below 4 MB.
If the client has applied a custom allow list but hasn't removed the default allow list, does the system run both or just the most recent one?
Both.
