Who has access to the data at Quantcast?

Data is ingested into the Quantcast processing platform to build models and analyze data. While our engineers and data scientists manage the data stores and the processing platform, they do not have direct access to your data. furthermore, Quantcast enforces a controlled-access policy to limit potential access to the data.

What technologies are used to collect data?

On publisher or advertiser websites, Java script code or pixel code is installed in the website code, which installs cookies in the browser and collects data from the browser.


In publisher or advertiser mobile apps, SDKs or Server-to-Server connections (S2S) collect data from the device.
From the bid stream: Quantcast receives data with bid requests sent by Sell-Side Platforms (SSPs) via Realtime Bid Exchanges (RTBs) on behalf of publishers.


From impressions: Pixel code installed in the impression code which collects data from the browser.

What are tags, pixels, and SDKs?

Tags are Java script code installed in a website's code. They install cookies in the browser and collect data from the browser.


Pixels are code installed in either a) a website code, which installs cookies in the browser and collects data from the browser, or b) an impression code, which collects data from the browser.


SDKs are code installed in a mobile app, which collects data from the device.
