Who is exporting personal data? Why don't Quantcast clients need to sign SCCs with Quantcast? | Quantcast International Ltd (QIL), headquartered in Dublin, IE, collects personal data in the EU. The personal data is transferred from QIL to Quantcast Corp. (QC Corp), headquartered in San Francisco CA, US, using intra-company Standard Contractual Clauses. In addition, Quantcast has a robust Transfer Impact Assessment and uses technical supplemental measures. As our client's joint controller, QIL collects personal data and exports it to QC Corp in the US. Therefore, QIL is the data exporter, and QC Corp is the data importer. Therefore, the client does not export personal data outside of Europe; rather, any such export is made as an intra-company arrangement between QIL and QC Corp, and the client need not execute separate SCCs with Quantcast. |
Once transferred to the U.S., is there a data retention policy? | Per our Data Retention and Privacy Policies, we retain data for as long as necessary to provide our Services and for the purposes described in the Privacy Policy. We generally retain personal data for up to 13 months. It is then permanently deleted. We may also retain information as is necessary to comply with our legal obligations, to resolve disputes, or to enforce our agreements. |
