Audiences
The Quantcast Platform allows you to view insights and target advertising campaigns based on your defined audiences. You can compare audiences or build audiences off of the general internet population, pixels placed on your website, or offline data you’ve uploaded to Quantcast and use them for a new campaign. But what if you could do the same thing with audiences you’ve already reached? You can with Campaign Audiences.
Campaign Audiences work just like any other audience in Planner. The difference is with the other types of audiences, Saved, Pixel, and Customer, you’re looking at audiences you could reach whereas with Campaign Audiences, you’re looking at audiences you have already reached. You can dive in and learn more about your audience’s makeup and behavior, and examine the outcomes of your previous campaigns that may help you refine and improve your future campaigns.
How to Access Campaign Audiences
In the top navigation menu, select Planner under Audiences.
In Planner, click the Campaign Audiences tab.
Click a campaign or ad set of interest (if you don’t see any, check the filter, which is set to Active campaigns by default).
Interact with the data on the report page to learn more about who your campaign reached.
Note: Ethnicity data is only available where permissible by law.
Tips
Forecasting: Forecasting is disabled in Campaign Audiences because you’re looking at an audience your campaign has reached; it’s in the past, as opposed to audiences you haven’t reached yet. Forecasting remains enabled for other types of audiences (Saved, Pixel, and Uploaded).
New Filter: In addition to the overall new functionality, we’ve also introduced a new filter for Campaign Audiences that allows you to refine your audience by
Users who have seen an impression (default)
Users who have clicked your ad
Users who have viewed a video and at what Video Completion Rate (VCR) - 25%, 50%, 75%, and 100%
Note: The viewed an ad option appears only for campaigns or ad sets with non-CTV video creative
Use Cases
You can learn about the makeup of the actual audience your campaign has reached. For example, the platform does its best to reach the demographics you specify in your audience but continues to reach people outside of those demographics if needed (e.g., if the demographics specified result in a very small core audience). In this case, you can learn more about who else received the ad and discover whether there might be additional opportunities for your campaign. Perhaps there’s an audience you’ve never imagined reaching who are responding favorably to your campaign.
You can compare your campaign audience to a saved audience to discover potential new customers. The audience overlap view can be quite helpful here and we offer that in two different ways:
In the Campaign Audience report/detail page, you’ll see the % Overlap with feature, which displays the overlap between the campaign audience with a saved audience of your choosing. This is convenient for a quick look, but you can use the Compare Audiences option for deeper investigation.
