Enabling Frequency Cap

Prev Next

Ad Frequency is the number of times a user is exposed to an ad from an advertiser over a specified period of time.  By managing frequency, marketers can optimize the number of ads that reach their target audience to maximize efficiency, prevent brand fatigue, and drive the brand's desired outcome.

Enabling Frequency Cap

Quantcast AI automatically optimizes the frequency of this ad set to best accomplish the primary objective/goal/KPI; however, you can also enable your own frequency cap to manually manage frequency.

Note: We recommend allowing the Quantcast AI to manage the frequency cap for best performance.

  1. You can enable frequency caps on both new and existing ad sets.

  2. To enable Frequency Cap within an ad set, navigate to the ad set you would like to update or create a new ad set. In the Targeting section, select Advanced Settings, then expand it.

Settings for targeting options including frequency limits and cookie preferences for web ads.

  3. Expand the Frequency Cap section.

  4. Check the box next to Set a Frequency Cap.

  5. Define the maximum number of impressions to serve a user in a defined frequency period.  Next, define the length of the frequency period.  For example, in the sample below, a user will receive no more than 1 impression every 7 days.

Settings for campaign frequency cap limiting impressions to one every seven days.

  6. Once the desired frequency cap has been added, the settings will be applied once you publish your ad set and begin delivering media.
