Using the Quantcast Challenge
The Quantcast Challenge is a feature that allows you to directly compare the performance of Quantcast's AI-powered audience targeting against a traditionally configured audience. By opting into the challenge, you can run an A/B test to see how our model performs, helping you build confidence in AI-driven optimization.
When you activate the Quantcast Challenge, you allocate 20% of your ad set's budget to an "Audience by Q" ad set, which is automatically targeted using our AI. The remaining 80% is allocated to your manually configured "Traditional" audience. Once you publish, the platform will automatically create a second ad set that is identical in every way, except the audience will be targeted by Quantcast AI. This allows for a clear and direct performance comparison.
How to Set Up the Quantcast Challenge
From the Campaigns page, either create a new campaign and ad set, or add a new ad set to an existing campaign.
In the Audience section of the ad set page, select the Traditional set up.
Toggle the Take the Quantcast Challenge option on.
Build out your traditional audience and complete the rest of your ad set sections.
Hit Publish.
Once you publish, two ad sets will be created. The challenge ad set will be differentiated by having " - challenge" added to the end of the ad set name. This new ad set will be assigned 20% of the budget via a hash split and will be targeted using Audience by Q.
Frequently Asked Questions (FAQ)
Q: Will my two ad sets compete against each other for the same audience?
A: No. The Quantcast Challenge uses a hash split methodology to divide the audience. This ensures that the user pools for the "Audience by Q" ad set and the "Traditional" ad set are mutually exclusive, preventing any overlap or competition between them.
Q: How do I manage my ad sets after publishing the challenge?
A: Once published, the two ad sets operate independently and must be managed separately. Any changes you make to one ad set, such as adjusting the budget or pausing the campaign, will not be automatically applied to the other. If you pause one ad set, you will need to manually reallocate its budget to the other if you wish to do so.
Q: Can I add the Quantcast Challenge to an ad set that is already live?
A: No, the Quantcast Challenge can only be activated during the initial creation of a new ad set. It cannot be applied to an ad set that has already been published. To run the challenge, you will need to create a new ad set.
Q: Is the Quantcast Challenge compatible with daily budgets?
A: No, the Quantcast Challenge is not compatible with daily budgets. You must use a lifetime budget for the ad set to enable this feature.
